My 12-year old stepson just spent the night and the whole day at his friend’s house.
His friend’s dad doesn’t work and so they stayed there…
Except when we got to the house to pick him up, the dad was gone, and there were two young girls. One of them in particular, has a thing for my stepson.
Reiken: “Did the girls sleep over too?”
SS: “Yea”
I slam on my breaks. WHAT??
SS: “Valerie slept over with Rosie” (or whatever her name is)
These kids are 12 and 13 years old, boys and girls, having a sleepover.
WHO DOES THAT?!
I realize that I was raised in a bubble, not only made up of old-fashioned Latin good-girl values but my folks took it to a whole new level with their Jehovah’s witness crap - I had chaperones until I got married at 19, and no I didn’t sneak around - BUT this.. THIS!! WTF IS THIS?!
Granted, Reiken doesn’t agree with the girls sleeping over either, so I’m not completely off my rocker. But the kids staying unsupervised all day…. It’s just … so much… freedom, at such a young age. I realize I am in the minority here… but I just don’t get it.
