In quest of sunshine

I am a complicated girl, fond of the smallest gorgeous details and gestures, liking the beauty in everything.

Kinda tired for an update on the JW front. Hubby’s really mad at me for going; he thinks I am being weak. I don’t appreciate that. He did his best not to lash out at me for going but he really can hardly stand himself.

Here are some golden nuggets of JW wisdom I picked up:

- During the so-called Bible Study, which is really a Watchtower-literature study: “We must always seek our brothers everywhere we go. They’re our EVERLASTING friends”.  Uhhh… YEAH, RIGHT!!!!!!!!

- A clear and concise condemnation of the phrase “Take it easy”. “NO!”, says the brother: “We must SACRIFICE ourselves! And NOT look for a religion that is comfortable!!” Wow… Heaven forbid you try to be happy huh?!

- Emphasis placed on 1 Tim 2:12 -  But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (Nothing new here… but then how come the sisters can make comments during the study…. shouldn’t they be in silence??)

- Detailed instructions on how to fill out a Living Will and Estate Planning so you can make sure all of your assets are handed over to the Watchtower when you die. This one was just priceless.

The meeting itself was long as fuck and the only good thing is that the congregation in general had a pleasant vibe. Because they all have their vibes… you can feel it the minute you walk in. Those of you who ahve been there know what I mean.

I talked with the elders and they said I should pray a lot (My translation: MEDITATE, A LOT!), give thanks before a meal (I pray to the Spirit of Infinite Intelligence in the name of Aradia, Venus, and Diana), and to go to all the meetings (Ok, I will work on my to-do lists while I’m there).

Right now the tense energy surrounding Reiken is killing me.
